Vision Statement:
To prayerfully seek God's guidance in identifying a group of individuals, who will fervently pray and intercede for our senior pastor on an ongoing, continuous basis. Even though this is a minimum one-year commitment, the individual who is truly called by God for this ministry may even find himself or herself a lifelong prayer intercessor for Bob.

Biblical Guidance
Exodus 17 (Moses' intercession for Joshua in the battle of Rephidim)
John 17 (Jesus' loving heart for His people and His desire to intercede for them with the Father)
Hebrews 7:25 (Intercession for all time)

What the Prayer Shield is...
Christians who have a pure heart and who are already praying for God's will
Disciples who possess the gift of discernment and who are truly guided by the Holy Spirit
Behind the scenes intercessors who will pray strategically and specifically "for" the pastor's personal needs and concerns on a daily basis
Mature individuals who will guard the confidentiality of this information
Reciprocal; just as Bob covets your prayers, he too will be praying for the shield's membership
